Soda, how to count the
ways I love thee? I'm just Mad About You, baby! The photo to the right shows Soda
at 8 1/2 years of age. She has just become a GRCA Outstanding Dam and we were celebrating
her achievement!
Soda is perhaps the best thing
that could have happened to us in Goldens. What an extraordinary
way to start a breeding program -- with a bitch that produces a
BISS puppy, a two time HIT puppy, a Best Puppy in Breed at the
prestigous International Kennel Club show, an Am/Can/UKC CD puppy
and the Top Golden in the Country in UKC rankings! Soda's first
pup to finish his Championship in the states is none other than
Ch. Clarkcreeks First N Goal To Go.
She became an Outstanding Dam when her son, Ch Clarkcreeks Who's On First
finished his Championship. This is a girl with so much drive that
she will retrieve carrying 10-12 puppies! Athletic? She makes
Michael Jordan look like an old, washed up, out of shape guy. Can
she swim? Like an otter. Does she pass all of this along to her
children? You bet she does. I thank Janine Fiorito every
time I talk with her for letting us have Soda. She is a dream
come true.
Soda was spayed at the age of 6 and celebrated her 10th birthday
in January 2004. She thoroughly enjoyed her retirement years and her
status of "queen of the household"! We lost Soda on July 12, 2004 at 10.5 years
of age. While we knew she had been suffering from some neurological issues nothing
prepared us for her sudden death. We watched her closely following Reno's death and we
believe she slid into a deep depression and confusion after his loss. Just 16 days
after his death we lost Soda and our house will never, ever be the same without her.
She was the best.
